NEW Self-Paced Online Training Course: PDA Aging Network Orientation Training

Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) Aging Network Orientation Training
This two-part, online training course, available to PDA and AAA staff, provides a foundational introduction to serving older adults within Pennsylvania’s Aging Network, making it ideal for those new to working with older adults, new to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) or Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), or anyone seeking a refresher on how the system functions.
Participants will explore the mission, vision, values, and organizational structures of PDA and AAAs; understand key relationships across agencies and service partners; and learn the principles of delivering excellent customer service to diverse stakeholders.
The course also offer a high-level look at how programs are funded and a practical orientation to the wide range of services available to older adults, covering program types, eligibility requirements, and pathways for helping individuals access multiple supports.
PDA and AAA STAFF: Click here to access the training course.
GUEST ACCOUNT REMINDERS:
A PDA LMS 'Guest' Account remains active for 30 days from the date of its creation or last login.
Currently, guest account holders can access one (1) free and publicly accessible training course, Protective Services Mandatory Abuse Reporting. If your agency requires completion of this training course annually, you must register a new 'Guest' account each year (see "NOTE" below).
- Click here to self-register a PDA LMS 'guest' account.
- After successfully completing the Protective Services Mandatory Abuse Reporting training course, the LMS system automatically awards the user a 'certificate of completion'.
- We suggest printing/downloading the certificate before logging out of the training portal, as the 'guest' account will automatically deactivate 30 days after its creation or last login.
- NOTE: If you created a PDA LMS "guest" account in a previous year, your account has already been deactivated. You'll need to self-register a new PDA LMS "guest" account each time you access the PDA LMS training portal.
Notice to Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Staff, Contracted Staff, Volunteers, and Student Interns:
If you are staffed by or provide volunteerism to one of Pennsylvania's 52 Area Agency on Aging (AAA) agencies, do not self-create a PDA LMS 'Guest' account. This includes contracted staff and student interns.
- A PDA LMS 'guest' account only provides access to one (1) free/publicly accessible training course, Protective Services Mandatory Abuse Reporting.
- If you are newly onboarded by an AAA, consult with your supervisor to request an account from one of your agency's designated PDA LMS 'org admins'.
- Each AAA has two or more staff members designated as the agency's PDA LMS 'org admin' who are responsible for establishing PDA LMS training accounts for newly onboarded staff members, volunteers, contracted staff, and student interns under the agency's PDA LMS 'organizational' hierarchy.
- PDA LMS training accounts established at the AAA-level provide access to the appropriate training materials applicable to the account holder's role.
AWARENESS TRAININGS:
*NOTE: PDA LMS 'Guest' account holders can access the Elder Abuse Awareness Training and the Mandatory Abuse Reporting Training Course, which are free courses available to all OAPS/APS mandated reporters.
Staff from Pennsylvania's Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) have full access to all PDA LMS training courses/resources.
